A Garden At Last!

Well, we finally got the beginnings of a garden! Yay! We are all so excited! Nolan's been wanting a garden for a long time, but we either haven't lived in a house long enough to have one, or haven't had one with a gardening area. Grandpa came with the rototiller and dug up our dirt for us. Thanks Grandpa! For some reason I can't get the first batch of photos to upload that shows the digging up part, but maybe I'll try later. Nolan wanted to be a part of every bit of it. He followed Grandpa all around as he dug up the dirt.

Strawberries all planted! YUM!

Giving the plants their first drink of water in their new bed.

Nolan's looking forward to working in the garden everyday. He plans on selling some of the produce to Adam's work to earn money for his mission fund.

"Silly Face"

I've been trying to capture this face for MONTHS! I can't ever quite get it in time. It makes me laugh every time she does it. When Lisa was out last week, she GOT IT!!! YAY! Thanks, Lisa!

Hats Hats Hats, HATS FOR SALE!

Well, I got my first batch of hats and hairbows in the store a few days ago. I realized as we were there that I needed to take some pictures of the hats. Oops. So, this is as good as it gets. Adam was the one who took the pics and positioned the hats on Annika's head while I was scurrying around trying to get tags on my bows. Soooo, it's a little different than I would have done it, but that's ok. At least it's something. :) Today was the Grand Opening, so we thought we'd go show our support. While we were there, we saw someone buy my strawberry hat (on the bottom)! Wahoo! Kinda fun to see. heeehee!

The Never Ending Cough!!!

I've decided pneumonia is my least favorite sicknesses to deal with. It NEVER goes away!!! Ever since we came home from Arizona, Nolan has had a cough that has caused him to miss A LOT of school. Especially the past two weeks. We got him on the antibiotic and the medicine for wheezing and it STILL didn't totally go away, but I thought it was getting better. Than this morning he woke up feeling bad again and his cough was starting to sound like it did before we started the medicine. What did they give us? WATER? So, I kept him home again today, called the doctor up, went in to get a different antibiotic and stronger cough medicine, went to Sam's Club to get the prescription. "AGAIN?," asks the pharmacist. "Yep, again." This is our 3rd or 4th visit in the past month. The doctor told me that his cough should be totally gone by Monday. If it's not, he will be getting a chest x-ray. The doctor told me it's a miracle that I haven't gotten sick yet. I don't think Moms are allowed to when their kids are. Tomorrow is parent-teacher conference. I'm sure all these absences Nolan's been having won't help in the decision to move him to 1st grade next year. Oh well, what needs to be done, will be done. We will see.

p.s. Yesterday, Nolan went to school. We had given the teacher some cough drops for Nolan in case he got into a coughing fit. He was having a little trouble at recess with coughing. All the running around and being active really gets it going. She said she had brought a cough drop with her in her pocket just in case. So, once she saw he was having trouble, she went up to him and opened her hand with the cough drop in it. Nolan looked at it and said, "SWEET!"
