Sharing Time

Today was Nolan's sharing day in class. He hadn't brought anything...for some reason I haven't heard of when his are. Anyways, he shared his 4 toed foot. He even showed them his disappearing toe trick, how he can make the 2nd toe disappear, since it kind of rests behind another toe so it makes it look like he has only 3 toes. I wish I could have been a fly on a wall! When I came to pick Nolan up, his teacher came to tell me about it. I think Nolan became the coolest kid in the class. It was a very positive experience! All the kids were amazed and were asking lots of questions. I'm glad he's not embarrassed about it, we've been working on having it this way his whole life! He didn't need that 5th toe. It doesn't keep him from being able to do anything that someone with 5 toes can. He's unique! I just love this kid! He is a good example to me!

On a less cool note, Nolan had another little miniature seizure/blackout today. This time he hadn't hit his head, but he fell down hard on his bottom because he missed the curb. Anyways, he was a little upset that he had fallen, but he got up to get in the car. I was standing right behind him, luckily when he collapsed down. It all happened so fast, but I was able to cushion his head with my hand before it hit the sidewalk while juggling Annika in my other arm. Then, he lost control of his bladder and wet himself. Also, did a little twitching around, eyes rolled back, and mouth was doing something a little strange. All of this only lasted about 5 seconds. When he came out of it, he was very upset that he wet himself and didn't remember how it all happened. Taking him to the doctor last time did absolutely no good! It is frustrating!

Anyways, I have some pictures to post, but I will have to do it another day. Watching another kid 2 days a week is fun, but wipes me out. It makes me appreciate my children so much more!
Monday I meet with an administrator of an elderly care place. They need someone to come do hair for the seniors in their facility. I guess they are pretty much wheelchair bound and don't get out. The one they have now has only 6-8 seniors, but they'll be opening another facility in May that will house 16. Should be interesting to see if I can balance this in my schedule as well.
