"I want to be a missionary now..."
Yesterday was Nolan's first week of Sunbeams! His Grandma Eddenfield got him a new church suit for Christmas that he wore. He looked so grownup! Well, in his class his teacher made crowns for each of the children that said, "I am a child of God" on them. Nolan was of course trying to put it on his teacher's head all during singing time. :) When Nolan got home he looked in the mirror at himself and said, "I look like a cute missionary!" He sure did!

Rise and Shine!
This morning Nolan woke up as energetic as usual. His parents weren't quite so quick to get out of bed though. Nolan was determined for us to wake up! He got me my glasses and slippers as usual than moved on to dad. He tugged and pulled for a while and finally plopped down and said, "It's no use!" Adam and I started laughing. I'm not sure where he picked that phrase up, must be from a movie he's watched. I felt so bad that he gave up, I just had to get out of bed. So much for sleeping in!

Nolan Playing the Organ
Nolan loves to play the organ! He probably plays it more than I do. There's always a beat in the background as he plays, which gets a little annoying after a while! :)
Nolan's Birthday Party
I was looking back at some of our recent videos and this one made me smile. Here is a clip of Nolan's birthday party. (Yay, I figured it out! With a little help! ;)) Sorry, I'm not sure how to flip it the right way!
Muffin Man
Nolan has grown attached to a certain Christmas decoration this year. It's a stuffed gingerbread man with a chef outfit on. He's named it Muffin. This morning Nolan was looking all over for the misplaced muffin man. I helped him look, but we couldn't find him anywhere. Finally, Nolan said, "Mommy, maybe we should say a prayer and Heavenly Father will help us find Muffin." I was so happy that he came up with that idea all by himself. We have done that several times when a toy or something is missing and Nolan knows how well prayer works. So, Nolan said a sweet little prayer and we began searching some more. Within 5 minutes the missing Muffin Man was found! He was in Nolan's play kitchen of course, hiding in one of the doors. :) Nolan than told me we needed to say another prayer to thank Heavenly Father for helping us find Muffin. So, we did. I know Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. Even though this is such a simple example of how Heavenly Father answered Nolan's prayer, I know it'll be something that Nolan remembers and uses often.

Nolan's Letter to Santa
I asked Nolan if he wanted to write Santa a letter of what he wanted for Christmas. His letter is short and sweet. He probably would have kept thanking him rather than telling him what he wanted for Christmas if I didn't steer him in that direction. As I thought about it later, I realized how if everyone focused on what they were thankful for, rather than what they wanted, this would be a happier world. Children are some of the best teachers.
Dear Santa,
Thank you for playing with those ducks. Thank you for letting me live in this house. That's what I want to say. I want some two animals for christmas. K, I think that's it.

My Masseuse
Nolan is my little masseuse. He gives the best back massages! Sometimes he'll get a little carried away as you'll see in this video, but for the most part, he does a pretty good job! Hopefully he won't grow out of it!
