6 Month Old Boys

I LOVE this of the two boys (thanks Bon).  Each is 6 months to the day.  Same outfit.  Nolan was such a teeny little dude.  I have more to catch up on, but I'll have to do that later.  I thought once Nolan got out of school life would be more relaxed.  It's been non stop.  Oh well, we're havin fun! 

This has been one of the most busiest, exhausting weeks of my life! I'm so glad it's over and I've got a much slower paced week ahead of me.  I was so tired that I didn't get out of bed until almost 9:00 this morning.  I don't remember the last time I stayed in bed that late! Thank goodness for 12:30 church...normally I prefer earlier.  I realized after such a week, I've become quite a home body.  I haven't really gotten out much since Parker's been born.  I realized that when we went to Target and watched Annika as we went up and down the aisles.  "Wow! Look at this Mom!" as we passed by all the toys.  She'd never seen so many neat things.  Quite entertaining watching her.  I don't really remember the last time we'd gone shopping before that.  Normally, I'll just have Adam pick up what we need when he's out.  We've been barely able to make ends meet, so to keep myself from spending money, I just stay home.  It works! So, maybe it wasn't that it was such a busy week, but I'm just out of practice.

On Tuesday, Nolan had his Limo ride.  I dropped Annika and Parker off at Gymnastics with Grandma and raced over to the school.  I had 5 minutes to spare, or so I thought.  I saw the Limo, but didn't realize Nolan was already in it! It drove off! I STILL didn't realize Nolan was in it.  After a couple of minutes, I asked someone if that was the one Nolan was in.  It was.  I raced over to Round Table Pizza! The kids were already inside getting started on Pizza.  Oh well, at least Nolan had seen me show up at the school.  That's all that mattered.  I left after asking him how he liked his limo ride.  The highlights: No seatbelts and got to stand up in it.  Alrighty then!  

 

Parker is getting better and better at sitting up, although he still prefers flat on his back so he can do his exercises.  He had his echo cardiogram on Tuesday afternoon.  I showed up to where I thought it was supposed to be, arriving 5 minutes early (I am never early these days) only to find out they had moved.  Traveled across town and ended up being 20-30 minutes late! Similar thing happened later in the week at another Dr. appointment.  I was proud of myself for getting out the door early, only to get stuck in traffic and arriving 15 minutes late.  Ugh! I'll never get it right! Anyways, back to the echo cardiogram...no worries, Parker's heart is just fine.  We were supposed to do this right after finding out about the VLCAD and we just kept forgetting about it.  Well, even though he got released from the study, they still wanted us to check his heart.

Thursday we got to visit Nolan's classroom for open house. So many fun things they've done this year. Last day of school will be Thursday this week. Nolan is very much ready for summer break! Last Friday he went on his last field trip to the MRPH (?), to learn about recycling and trash. He said he plugged his nose the whole time. Afterward they went ice-skating. He had fun once he got to use a bucket to keep him from falling down. Annika got to visit Primary today. She is the oldest in Nursery, I believe and seems to be getting bored. They had her and another of the older boys go take a field trip during sharing and singing time. I think they'll go ahead and keep that up since there will be a whole new group of babies entering Nursery soon. It was cute listening to Nolan and Annika talk about it on the way home from church, comparing notes. :)

Science Project

Does this look familiar or what? Nolan had so much fun with this! Really.  Who wouldn't when it comes to making cookies! I didn't want to be the parent that did this project for him, so Nolan was up til 9:30 finishing this up with me.  He usually goes to bed by 7:00.  He had until Friday, but I didn't want him to be the kid who procrastinated til the last day.  Anyways, it's funny...no matter how many times you read through something before printing it out, it looks perfect and it's not till you have it all on the board when you notice the errors.  But, that's OK! I'm proud that he typed most of it all up himself! Last major project of the school year!

Parker Is 5 Months!

Parker is 5 months old today! He is growing. He's a handsome little boy. He loves to roll over and be on his back so he can do his exercises. He sometimes threatens to start crawling...but he's not allowed to yet. He's still my baby! He's starting to get good at sitting up for a few seconds.  And then he slowly starts to bend in half.  It's hard to get a non fuzzy picture of him because he's always squirming.  He has a strange sleeping pattern.  One night he slept for 12 hours straight! The next two nights, it felt like he was nursing nonstop all night.  If I knew that's how it would have been, i would have went to bed earlier.  :P I am a night owl these days.  It's the only time I can get projects done.  I sure do love this little boy! He loves his Daddy! This morning, he was fussing when I was holding him.  The minute I gave him to his Daddy, he was just fine! He loves his brother and sister too! He laughs laughs laughs at them! I'm pretty sure he loves his Mommy too! :) His head turns to follow me wherever I go and when our eyes lock, he gives me some sweet smiles! He has so many different expressions.  Here are just a few!

I always know when Parker is DONE with his rice cereal.  He starts sucking on his thumb.  I try to keep pulling it out to get him to have a few more bites.  Then, I finally give in! (I wonder if he'll be a lefty like his Daddy and Mommy).

The First Step

Today the first main step was taken! Hooray! Adam and his Mom met with a business broker specializing in restaurants today.  He seemed optimistic about the business being sold at the price we would need.  It feels good to get this show on the road! I think everyone is getting more and more anxious to move on.  Whether we MOVE is still up in the air.  Spence has a plan that may keep us here in California after all.  We shall see.  ;) We'll take one step at a time and do what feels right.
